Smartphone insomnia

Extensive use of Smartphones leads to insomnia

 how it works?

smart phone insomnia is not that hard to understand

but to understand how Smartphone insomnia occurs, we will have to find out how our brain interprets different signals and what parts of the nervous system are involved in the sleep cycle

but first, we are gonna ask.

What is Insomnia?

well the simple answer is the lack of sleepiness, is insomnia, it means that a person is unable to fall asleep and that is what is insomnia

 What causes insomnia?

insomnia can be caused by a lot of reasons some being
common insomnia causes
  1. One of the main reasons nowadays is Smartphones and artificial light, as I have explained before
  2. stress is one of the leading causes, it may be due to concerns about work, studies even family
  3. bad circadian rhythm ( bad sleeping habits)
  4. overeating in the evening
  5. sometimes just afternoon naps can lead to insomnia

Symptoms of Insomnia?

1. difficulty falling asleep
2. waking up in the middle of the night
3. irritability
4. short attention span
5. bad at decision making and increased chance of errors or accidents
6. patient feels sleepy and tired throughout the day

the first one is the ganglion layer,

The Ganglion layer is present in the retina, these are under other photoreceptors. these are not used for vision but are very sensitive to the presence of light.

these photosensitive ganglions have a photopigment called melanopsin,

the second one involved is the optic nerve,

these photosensitive ganglions cells have long fibers that connect to the optic nerve and eventually reach the suprachiasmatic nucleus

the 3rd is the suprachiasmatic nucleus

this is a small bundle of neurons and this area is the one responsible for our circadian rhythm, which is most commonly known as the day-night cycle,

day-night cycle in lay man's term is the clock out the body had, due to which it knows when to feel sleepy and when to wake up.

then there is 4th the penial gland -

it is responsible for the secretion of melatonin( this can cause drowsiness) so when darkness is detected by our eyes, the penial gland is informed and it secretes melatonin which leads to sleepiness or drowsiness
.

so

Q) is using the phone for a long time bad?

the answer is simple - yes

Q)how does the phone stop us from falling asleep

it's simple actually, first, there is an obvious reason for the smartphone light causing the penial gland to stop producing melatonin.
the second reason is that the phone keeps us focused and it can lead to insomnia

How to cure insomnia
the cure for insomnia lies in a healthier lifestyle
you can start meditating
some workout, avoid naps

So to sleep better, you should avoid looking at your phone,

keep the phone away from yourself and meditate for some time before you go to sleep,

these habits will help you make a healthy lifestyle and help you lead a relatively better life

Drug Overdose and Poisoning

Poisoning of some Drugs poisoning caused by some drugs and how to deal with them 1. Poisoning with muscarine: Symptoms:   miosis,  blurred vision,  increased salivation,  excessive sweating,  lacrimation,  bronchial secretions,  bronchoconstriction,  bradycardia,  abdominal cramping,  increased gastric acid secretion,  diarrhea and polyuria (it might cause also tremor, convulsions and hypothermia). Miosis A s we all are well aware that muscarine is a acetylcholine agonist which in turn stimulates the cholinergic receptors which are an integral part of Parasympathetic post synaptic receptors and sympathetic sweat receptors all are triggered by acetyl choline agonist muscarine leading to all the above mentioned symptoms and so to treat it we use a Acetylcholine Antagonist which block the channels that are being stimulated leading to the blockage of all the response of the choline related reactions. Treatment:  The dru...
